The police are only a phone call away, they are meant to protect you. Right? If they get there in time. This is another civilized response or ideal, which takes away from the individual the idea of one’s own responsibility to protect oneself and one’s family. Why never learn or let others tell us that we should rely on someone else to protect us. It should be ingrained in all of us that we have a responsibility to ourselves first. Do not voluntarily give up your right to know how to defend yourself against an armed attacker by believing you won’t be attacked, or believe one should never need to know how to defend oneself as this is the culturally right thing to do, which is usually imposed by legislators that have government security often on call.

I have seen that most fights, attacks, assaults, robberies in the real world are not civilized. Attackers try to bring the odds into their favour by often strategically pre-meditating or planning their acts and using the tactics of ambush. Or being in a bigger group attacking a smaller group or a group attacking a singular person. Often these attackers bring weapons into action while the other persons don't have any. Some simply use their larger size to their advantage, over a smaller opponent in the real world. There are weight divisions in most martial sports are there not? If someone attacks you in the real world and they have a weapon and you do not, you are most definitely at a disadvantage. Also in the martial arts sports arena, most competitions usually match or pit those of similar weights and grades against those of similar weights and grades. This does not happen in the real world.

But isn’t the using of weapons against bare hands unfair? Nature makes no distinction between right or wrong, good or evil, just or unjust, fair or unfair, these are human moralistic theories brought out after the fact, written down in books for court systems, long after a person has been pronounced dead from a knife to the chest. A lot of unscrupulous people in the real world, ignore moralistic theories and hope they don’t get caught. I regularly only hear of people saying they are “sorry” after they have been caught, with very few giving themselves up with a guilty conscience.

End of Part 4…
